Docu-Portal is a new module for SOAPware users which provides two major feature additions to the EHR:
- Inbound and outbound faxing which is integrated with the chart.
- A secure patient portal for providing records to patients.
In addition, there are a host of additional communication, document editing, and document capturing features included in the Docu-Portal, such as secure messaging to non-patient contacts, screen capture, PDF editing and generation, and scanned document uploads. Docu-Portal also provides tracking of fax and e-mail communications and provides configurable individual and shared views to inboxes and sent items.
Docu-Portal addresses the need for a fully integrated fax solution for our customers that will save money over phone line-based faxing, reduce paper and ink consumption, and save steps for the administrative staff. Inbound faxes and scanned documents arrive as PDF thumbnails which can be quickly viewed, edited, and submitted to the chart in a few clicks. Outbound faxing from SOAPware happens from the print function on your computer and integrates with your stored non-patient contacts.
While still early in its evolution, we also expect that Docu-Portal will help address meaningful use requirements regarding exchanging records with patients and third party providers. We expect to continually add to the core functionality of Docu-Portal as its introduction invites feedback from our users.
You will find that Docu-Portal has the familiar look of an e-mail and document management system, so staff learning time is very short.
Docu-Portal is accessed from your desktop through popular browsers, such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari. It is available for all of our users, including hosted customers. SOAPwareXchange 2010.1.X or above is required to enable Docu-Portal. Billing is through an automated monthly debit to your credit card on file, and the price starts at $35 per month for three users and 500 fax pages, with options to dynamically add users and additional fax volume beyond what’s included with the base plan.
